Deformity correction refers to the process of modifying musculoskeletal deformities through the use of
orthotics or surgery. Deformities can occur anywhere in the body but are more common in the leg, foot and ankle. Deformities may be congenital (from birth),
developmental (become worse as the child grows), metabolic (due to nutritional or enzyme deficiencies), due to injury or due to diseases like diabetes,
cerebral palsy, polio, tumours or bone infections. We, at Dr Mathur’s orthopaedic clinic aim to identify the cause of the deformity and its severity and
use various non surgical and surgical means for realigning the limb thereby improving the patient’s gait and activity levels.
We employ the latest
principles of deformity correction and use bone osteotomies, physeal stapling, fixator assisted nailing, plating and illizarov techniques to correct bone
alignments and length.
