Arthroscopic surgery or key hole surgery is minimally invasive surgical procedure used to examine and operate within a joint. Usually 2 small incisions are made over a joint-the first one is used to insert an instrument called arthroscope to see inside the joint and the other to insert the surgical instruments. The advantage of arthrocopy over traditional surgery is faster recovery time and minimal scarring. Hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and wrist are the most common joints amenable to arthroscopic surgery.
