Ankle arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to identify and treat problems in the ankle joint. It involves making 2 or more small incisions around the ankle and using a thin fibreoptic camera to see an enlarged image of the joint on a tv screen. It is used to treat certain conditions like ankle arthritis, impingement, instability, ankle fractures, osteochondral lesions, or ankle stiffness. The advantages of the procedure include a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.
